Dodge has announced pricing and specifications for its all-new 2024 Charger Daytona, marking a significant shift towards electrification for the iconic muscle car brand. The new Charger Daytona will be available in two high-performance models, both featuring all-electric powertrains.

The 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona R/T will start at $57,790 CAD, including destination charges. It comes standard with a factory-installed Direct Connection Stage 1 Upgrade, resulting in 496 horsepower and 404 lb-ft of torque.

The higher-performance Charger Daytona Scat Pack will be priced from $89,790 CAD. This model includes a Track Package and Direct Connection Stage 2 Upgrade, producing an impressive 670 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque. Dodge claims the Scat Pack can accelerate from 0-60 mph in 3.3 seconds and complete the quarter-mile in approximately 11.5 seconds.

Electric Vehicle Features

The 2024 Charger Daytona represents Dodge's first foray into all-electric vehicles. Initially, it will be available at dealerships in British Columbia and Quebec before expanding to other markets. Buyers may be eligible for up to $5,000 in federal rebates and up to $7,000 in provincial rebates, depending on location.

Dodge is partnering with Free2move to offer charging solutions. Buyers can choose between a Free2move Charge Home Package with a 48-amp Level 2 charging station or a Charge Go Package with credits for public charging stations. Using a Level 3 DC fast charger, the Charger Daytona can recharge from 20% to 80% in just over 27 minutes.

Key Features and Technology

Both Charger Daytona models feature a 400-volt dual motor system with all-wheel drive and a mechanical limited slip differential. The cars also include Dodge's patent-pending Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust system, designed to provide an engaging sound experience for the electric muscle car.

Inside, drivers will find a 12.3-inch Uconnect 5 infotainment system, a heated performance steering wheel, and various drive modes. Safety features include automatic emergency braking, lane management systems, and other driver assistance technologies.

Production and Availability

Production of the two-door Charger Daytona models is scheduled to begin in summer 2024, with four-door versions following in the first half of 2025. Gas-powered Charger SIXPACK models are planned for production in the latter half of 2025.

The 2024 Dodge Charger will be manufactured at the Windsor Assembly Plant in Ontario, Canada, with deliveries expected to start in the fourth quarter of 2024.

This launch represents a significant step for Dodge as it transitions its muscle car lineup into the electric era while aiming to maintain its performance heritage.
